Jocelyn ,

Apprenticeship or training and experience are required to ace the art of perfection in the field of culinary arts. Below are few links that you can try to know more about Culinary from the Institute itself

Todd’s Answer

CIA is about the best, but most colleges and universities offer some sort of culinary program. If you were in LA you could get started with LA Trade Tech Community College. If you want to save your money, take a position, any position, in a kitchen and exhibit interest in cooking, not by bugging too much, but by asking the chef or Sous chef questions about what they are cooking, just not when they are slammed. When you see they are slammed offer to help in any way. If you show well, they will start showing you more and eventually train you. Some of the best cooks I have were transformed from dish pit and some from server staff. BOL

Rosie’s Answer

Hello Jocelyn S.,

That is wonderful! A great place to start is to find a local Junior College and see if they have classes if you like it you can look at Art Institute for baking classes. If school is not your thing you can always apply at any bakery or any place that has a bakery such as grocery stores, convention centers, restaurants, hotels and arenas and see if the head baker is hiring. Submerging yourself in that field is sometimes the best place to learn and see if it's something you will thrive at. Good luck and remember do what you love and the money will follow!
