Entry level internships

Hello my name is Naysa and I am a freshman in college. I am looking for an internship within the federal government, or for representatives, congressmen, and delegates. My problem is that the jobs I have done in past, have nothing to do with any of these subjects. So how do I arranged my resume and cover letter to make me seems as though I am a good candidate with no background experience? #internships #human-resources #federal-government #intern #top-management-hiring

If you google "Federal internships" quite a few options come up. If you are interested in a Congressional internship, you may simply google that as well. You can also try candidates to get some good field visibility. These are good opportunities for growth.

I highly recommend making an appointment with a career service advisor at your college if they have one. They usually will look at what you did especially what type of soft skills did you pick up, and try to match to what the job descriptions of the positions you are looking for. I don't have access to any so I can't help any further.

When you don't have a specific background in the job you're hiring for, the next best thing you can include in your resume is descriptions of the experience/education you do have and why they're relevant. Under your education and experience, I would put bullet points listing classes you've taken, leadership you've shown, and skills you've demonstrated as points underneath the item being described. Use action words and try to look up attributes of the ideal candidate to make sure the skills you describe match the candidate they're looking for.
