Is Urban and Regional Planer a good job?
I am interested in becoming a Urban and Regional Planner. I want to find out if it is a good job to start. #odlh #career #job #business #career-counseling #internship

I majored in Urban and Regional Planning and while I don't work in the field, it's principles are invaluable. Also, look at a GIS minor. It will expand your career opportunities.
Start with the best case scenario/ outcome you want, then break it down to what it takes to get there, then break each step down to what it takes to accomplish that, and keep doing it.
Example:
Goal: Fire station next to a piece of land you know is slated for residential development.
a Road Access
b ingress and egress
c Water main
d Area fire truck can cover overlapping other station?
e permits
f firehouse design appropriate with local codes/ architecture.
