Eric’s Answer

Greetings Miss. Brianna
That is one of the one hundred thousand dollar questions, to one of the most wonderful questions ever asked.
What do you think?? Really if you have the idea of a conceptualize new forms that you see a need then try to create. I would say study all the principals and create your own vision.
Now there will be skeptics who will say well "that's covered in this" and "that is covered in that" This is where inspiration will take you who knows you may be the next step in this evolution called knowledge quest. All have healing as the principals, most people tend to animals much more kindly than they do their fellow human beings. the multi-million dollar question is where do you fit in society ?? Or how do you see yourself 20 years from now ??
Questions to health related true honesty is how do you deal with death, pain, and suffering. In every field of service one cannot escape dealing with death. To honestly go into the health field is not one to go into haphazardly or you will burn out quickly. Not only waste a lot of time but money as well. One does not go into nursing for money it is a thankless job that you spend numerous hours awake for an exam that you think you should know.
But ask your heart what you truly want to do. write a list of what excites you and what you absolutely will not do. then figure out what is obtainable and what you are willing to sacrifice for to accomplish what you want. As the old saying goes
Find something that you truly like and you will never work a day in your life. And as I like to add from the cartoon Hobbit movie is a saying. Gandalf is speaking to Bilbo when he forgot his handkerchief. " Always remember When your heart is once lifted, think of pleasant things."

Adrienne A.’s Answer

Hi Brianna! If you love animals and the medical field, veterinary professions are very rewarding. I am a registered veterinary technician (RVT) which is equivalent in education, training, licensing, etc. to that of a registered nurse. I worked in animal hospitals for over 10 years before working in non-clinical roles that helped pet owners and other veterinary professionals in other ways. I love my career choice, have no student debt, and have a plethora of career opportunities!

Hi Brianna! Are you interested in health education at all? I'm a dietitian & I have a masters in public health if that's something you'd want to know more about. I personally got into it because after doing a student job teaching health & nutrition, I realized I really did enjoy teaching & that nutrition was a subject that I was passionate about.

I like what Eric said about making a list of what excites you & what doesn't & going from there. I had to figure out by trial and error (taking different internships/jobs to know what I liked & didn't like). Maybe that could work for you too?

Caitlyn’s Answer

I know another dietitian posted here but I second it as a fun career where you get to help folks everyday build a balanced relationship with food and body. It does take a decent amount of science, nutrition and psychology courses, an internship, exam and (starting in 2024, a masters degree- can be in any field) but there are now many pathways to get these requirements fulfilled. If you are interested in learning more about dietetics as a career and schooling opportunities, I would suggest starting with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics website here: https://www.eatrightpro.org/acend/students-and-advancing-education/information-for-students/faqs-about-careers-in-dietetics

Best of luck !
