What do you do when, you feel like you can't do it anymore?

I have a tendency to have panic attacks, and feel like I cant make it through school. I can't imagine what its going to be like in college next year. I would genuinely like to hear what college students do, or have done, to get through it all.#k-12-education #motivation #self-esteem #be-your-best-self #success !

Hi Haley,

high school is a tough time! There are lots of demands and reasons to be stressed out :(
Panic attacks must be crazy hard to deal with, I hope you can get some medical/professional help with that. Please do! Talk to a counselor or another trusted adult and get help. You dont deserve to suffer like that. Your physical and mental health needs to be a priority, nothing matters more than that.

High school and college are just a small part of life, you are here on this planet to enjoy being you and shine your own unique Haley light and share the things that only you can create. Try relaxing into the feeling that you are here for YOU. What others think and demand and say especially unkind or stressful things, it does not matter. You are only responsible for your own happiness, you can never make others happy. Even if you try, there will always be one more, new demand.....and in the end you would end up living someone else's life.

Once you get to collage, you will be more independent, you will have some new, really cool experiences and will make new friends. You will feel more in charge of your life and more empowered. You will be focusing on studying whatever your passion is and spend time exlporing and expanding your mind. All that stuff is fun. Collage is much more fun and easier than high school. You will be growing much and blossoming into a new, adult you.

It might also be a good idea to take a year off after high school and travel or work for a year if you can. Once you lived a year without school you might relax and realize there is so much to life. You will be more mature and have some life expereince under your belt that will make college an even better experince.

Wishing you much joy and fullfilment with your adventure.

You have to set a routine for yourself and stick to it for the most part. Once you get into the groove of a routine it will be much easier for you to manage your time and have enough time for everything you need to do (including relaxing). Make yourself to-do lists on a weekly basis, use Google calendar or a planner to keep track of events, deadlines, and due dates. In addition to setting a routine and sticking to it, plan out relaxing activities into your day. Or set aside a time, after everything is done for the day, that you can have "me" time. I have also personally found it essential to not only find time for myself but also make use of that time in a way that is best for me and my holistic wellness. I have found the HeadSpace app to be an essential tool in helping me relax and generally feel more relaxed throughout the day, Guided meditation, even if you have a busy schedule, will make you feel more at ease and relaxed throughout the day as a whole (not just when you have the time to relax and focus on that "me" time).

Set a routine.Use Google Calendar.Set aside Me TimeWrite weekly to-do lists and use a planner.Find a peaceful and restful activity that will help you feel relaxed.

Michele’s Answer

I keep a folder of all positive accomplishments along with a document on my desktop of everything I have accomplished professionally. I do anywhere from weekly to monthly loading of these 2 resources. (I call them my "check-up from the neck up" On days that seem to be darkest, I refer to these things so I can see once again what I am capable of, that I have been through worse. I also have a select few people who I can go to.

College is a different breed from high school. Some find it easier others may not. However, in college, you have more freedom around your schedule and how you spend your time. For me high school was hard because I couldn't accomplish things in a way that worked for me, everything was dictated by my parents and teachers. College was refreshing because I could try to form my own way of accomplishing tasks and goals which did reduce some anxiety, however, with this comes a learning curve, but you come out better at the other end.
