Focus less on the opening or introductory paragraph, and focus more on the "meat" of the essay. Make any references, citations, quotes, etc., flow smoothly, and remember the middle part of the essay is the place most readers will reflect back on when remembering its meaning or beauty.

When I wrote my essay, I struggled with the prompts. Initially, I felt I needed to write an "academic essay" like I did throughout high school. Never talking about anything, just formal, clear cut, and dry.
