Richard J (Rich)’s Answer

Be the best that you can be in your work by following the advice above by others. There is always a learning curve to get to know your job - that is expected - and then it is about being confident (without arrogance) on the job. Your goal is to be a valuable member of the team.

Of course you want to grow in your career, advance and earn better pay - but you have to be the best you can be at your level to help you get the credentials and recognition to move forward.

Finally - you are a member of a team no matter what job you are doing. There are very few jobs in this world that you are totally independent. So, be a good team member, respect others around you, and work toward the success of your organization and co-workers as well as to yourself.
