If you are skilled at and enjoy photography, it can definitely be a good side hustle. Get your work out there by developing a strong social site. Volunteer for a few jobs and tap into your family and friends network to begin to build your portfolio and reputation. The best part is that you can make money while still honing your skills.

Yisel’s Answer

Hello Sara,

Imagine transforming a hobby you adore into a passion that fuels your life. That's what can happen when you love something like photography. This pastime can unlock countless opportunities for you, morphing your side hustle into a rewarding career. It could take you on adventures around the globe, capturing breathtaking images from the depths of the ocean to the peaks of mountains, from the heart of a volcano to the mystery of undiscovered ruins.

Think about the vibrant images you see in National Geographic. They're the work of photographers who've taken their love for the craft and used it to share the world's beauty with millions. A picture, as they say, is worth a thousand words. But it can also be a powerful tool to evoke emotions, depict reality, and narrate history. So, hats off to you for wanting to use your talent to enlighten and beautify the world through your lens.

To embark on this journey professionally, you'll need some specialized training. Most photographers start with a degree program, such as a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Photography. BFA programs usually focus more on studio art courses like drawing or painting. Alternatively, you can find commercial photography associate's degree programs at community colleges, vocational schools, or technical institutes. Entry into these programs could require a portfolio of your work. L’s Answer

I think a side hustle is always a great idea! Photography would be a great one as well as it would allow you to work your own hours and supplement your other job as you would like. Eventually, if you are making enough income to support yourself from the side hustle, then you could decide if its something you want to take on full time or how much time/effort you want to devote to it. Regardless, having more talents, skills, side hustles just opens the door for you to create the life you want.
