How can I enhance my motivational skills to become a successful interior designer?
I'm in the 8th grade and I would like to learn how to prepare myself to see if being an Interior designer is a career I would be interested in for my future.

I strongly suggest that you consider shadowing an interior designer or applying to shadow at an interior design firm, architecture firm, or a general contractor, particularly those that focus on Design+Builds. These are the places where you're most likely to encounter an interior designer. I encourage you to conduct some online research and connect with these companies, particularly those that specialize in a specific area that piques your interest. Make the effort to reach out to them via phone call or email. A phone call is highly recommended as employers appreciate the personal touch and the effort you put into speaking with them. Don't hesitate to keep asking until you hear a 'yes'. Someone, somewhere, will eventually say it.
I also suggest that you attend home shows or interior design events, like IIDA (they even have college chapters, so reach out to the nearest one and see if you can attend). This will give you exposure to other designers, architects, general contractors, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineers. These are the professionals you'll be interacting with in the field. Being around them will give you a clearer perspective on whether this is a career path you'd like to continue exploring.
Finally, immerse yourself in the industry. Subscribe to publications like Interior Design, Metropolitan, Luxe magazine, and others to stay updated on the latest trends and styles. At your age, I didn't know what an interior designer was, but I did know a few things: I love helping people, observing spaces, and thinking about different ways to change them to function better for people. I drew house plans on graph paper, cut out little furniture shapes to scale, and figured out different ways to arrange furniture. I also knew I had some skill at drawing and was in honors art at school. Being an interior designer requires the ability to understand people and being able to envision how a space can change. These are the basic skills you'll need, all of the rest can be learned in school! You have plenty of time to explore your creativity, so don't limit yourself, because many careers fit these basic skills.

The best way to determine if a job/career route is for you as a young person is to shadow someone who works in that field full-time and/or do internship/summer programs that will put you in that field to learn if it is a fit for you, before you pay for education to get into that field.
This can also serve as motivation. If you shadow someone working or participate in a program and love what you see, you can then use that to push you towards the goal of getting into that position.
Research local companies that have employees in the role you are interested in, ask them if they have a shadow program for students
Research programs with the local community colleges or univerisities to see if they have opportunities available for you to learn about fields you are interested in
This can also serve as motivation. If you shadow someone working or participate in a program and love what you see, you can then use that to push you towards the goal of getting into that position.
