What options i have after doing Majors in Psychology and Minor as International relations?

I am doing BA in liberal arts with major as psychology and minor subject as international relations. interested in design and Artificial intelligence too.Loves writing.
I am open to study abroad out of India but don't prefer USA can you suggest best universities in Europe?

Hello Madhuvanti. As I'm based in the U.S. and familiar with higher education in this country only, and with respect to careers in psychology and mental health, I don't have any specific knowledge or experience to draw from. However, as with asking questions of a search engine or large data-base, it can be helpful to "narrow your search criteria." You mention a major in psychology, minor in international relations. interests in "design" and AI, and you love "writing." I'm glad you have such varied interests, but in order to begin mapping out a pathway of education, training, and preparation for a career, I believe it would be helpful for you to try and narrow down to an occupation or more specific career setting. Try to answer the well-worn interview question, "What would you like to be doing five years from now?" If you can come up with some more specific job titles, employment settings, locations (countries) to live in, then that will help you figure out a pathway to that end point. And it can change, of course, but I think you'll need to do some prioritizing of your career or work objectives.

Hi Madhuvanti,

Do you know where you want to go with your studies? Would you prefer to continue your education and get a masters (and possibly PhD)?

The first thing that came to my mind with psychology and international relations was ambassador. You also have tags for embassador and united nations. Have you checked the entry requirements for the foreign service? Do you actually need more schooling if you want to go that way? They have a few years of their in-house studies as well:

I would recommend you contact the foreign service and ask for advice, e.g. if a graduate degree is required? Would they like you to get your degree in international relations or psychology? Or do they even care? What about languages?

If you want to attend a university in Europe, check language requirements. Many countries have programs taught in English now, but others are in the local language. Studying in a country other than GB would allow you to learn a language on the side as an added bonus.

Thank you comment icon You are very welcome! Yes, the road to ambassador with exams and all is quite lengthy. I think it is everywhere. Of course you can go for a graduate degree in psychology as well, but do find out if foreign degrees are recognized if you want to be licensed or board certified or whatever the process is in India (if/when you eventually go back).
