Are surgical technologists on their feet all day?
I am a 19 year old Job Corps student. I want to know if I should expect to be on my feet the entire shift or if I will have time to be seated.

Hi dear that's a good question first and I'll like to give you an idea of what entails to be a surgical technologist .....I first depends with the institution and the role you will be under .......Some hospitals require much multitasking roles while others will post you to one role at the surgical department ....meanwhile u will get breaks sometimes but it's good to be fit coz u will be needed sometimes to scrub for long cases which can take even a entire day ........so just be fit and ready for any circumstances ........

Hi, yes you are on your feet quite a bit for this job. I worked 12 hours shifts from 7 AM to 7 PM and I would say on a busy day I’m on my feet at least 9 to 10 hours out of 12.
It’s good, especially that you are young, If you started out in this career to make sure to wear support socks or hose and some very comfortable shoes.
