Network Network Network Network. And to keep in contact is literally just interacting with people on social media and reaching out when you are looking for advice or going somewhere where you might run into someone in your network.

How to make connections:
Instagram, Tik Tok, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, Twitter (sorry sorry "X"), Threads, Discord, email, Snapchat, Clubhouse, business cards, a website. There's more way's to network than there are grains of sand basically. If you find yourself in a situation where people are talking about what they do for a living- that is networking. If you see a singer you like and want to see if they want to make something with you- that is networking. If you see someone doing exactly what you want to do and you shoot them a quick dm- that is networking. If you see that a music industry event is happening near your house, go- because that is networking. If there's an opportunity to do something virtually that includes asking questions and interacting with other people- that is networking.

How do you keep those connections going? Literally just don't ghost them. Reach out with ideas. Follow each other on social media. Exchange goods or services for free at first and then build up a working relationship. Create a brand around your music that's recognizable so that if people do lose contact with you, they will instantly remember who you are after a performance or networking event.

My thought is that you should already be a singer, if that's what you want to do. When agents, promoters, and the such, come to check you out, you have to have a "product" to showcase.

Building a reputation takes work and time. You can make a flexible list of steps to take, then work at it. Learn how to write a press release. Put together a dynamic Press Kit. Work at making the media and critics aware of what you do.

Work at being both patient and persistent. Those you want to connect with have a hundred or more persons just like you, begging for attention. Think about what you can do that'll make their work easier.

Well, Networking is a great way to connect with people in the music industry and utilizing social media is a great way.

Also, becoming a singer has to do with how you groom yourself that is by constantly rehearsal and practicing to understand your voice and learn different techniques. As a singer you need to take some time to yourself and find out what make you unique from every other singer out there which you can online get by constant rehearsals and practice as I said earlier.

Lastly, when you have utilized most of this steps I have mentioned "networking, rehearsal, practice and understand your voice " the people in the music industry will come to you.

Always remember people you want to connect with also want to connect with you but to draw that connection you've got to have something special that you can offer.

You can also try promoting yourself and your music on social media by creating an account for promotion because Record Labels will have people searching the social networks for talent to use and build up that person.
