Hi from Seattle, Washington! I would love to be able to answer any questions within my scope of knowledge. My background is in prehospital emergency services. I was a firefighter/paramedic for about 10 years, working on the rescue ambulance and on the fire engine . It was a great career, but I really wanted to be in the air, so I transitioned to being a flight paramedic. It was my dream to be on the helicopter since I was a baby paramedic. So here I am, working with incredibly talented nurses and paramedics, and I couldn't be more grateful. The job mostly entails picking people up from accidents or bringing them from a small hospital with limited resources to a larger one like a trauma or stroke center. It is an amazing job, but I am also a student like you now (maybe just a little older), and I am pursuing my doctorate in clinical psychology. I will still be working with people in need, but with mental health.
(And by the way, there is a huge shortage of psychologists, therapists, and other mental health professionals in case that interests you).
