What is the best way I can use my future B.A in Criminology?
I am just finishing my Senior year of high school, and I am currently enrolled in the Criminology program at Penn State University. I know I want to study criminology, but I am afraid I will not use my degree to its full potential. I want to get the most out of my degree after school and through my career.

Hello, Alanna !
If you want to make the most of your Criminology Degree after college graduation, you will need to learn about the career. Criminology is law enforcement. You will learn all about the career while taking your academic path. It will be in college that you will discover the "best way" to "use your degree" for a career.
A Major is made up of various courses that prepare people for careers. Criminology focuses on learning about crime and the justice system. Penn State's Program centers on lots of theory, research, and statistics related to crime. At Penn State, your Major is under the Department of Sociology and Criminology. Their catalog online only lists the code names of the individual courses, so you can visit the academic counselor to see the subject names of the required courses. The names of the courses will indicate what kind of career you can apply this degree to. It's okay that you don't know what you want to do four years from now. Let your educational experience guide you. There's no such thing as "most" or less with a degree. It's great to have the degree which you'll have for the rest of your life. That is a grand achievement.
Most likely you will hear about these careers connected to Criminology while you are full time in your Major, but some careers that you can explore would be Criminal Investigator, Probation Officer, Parole Officer, and Correctional Treatment Specialist, Information Security Analyst, Financial Examiner, and Forensic Science Technician. Those are careers at the Bachelors Degree level. I think you could also become a police officer, too and enroll at The Police Academy after graduation.
Give this some time and try to learn more about each possible career that is specific. Focus on your Bachelors Degree for now and in your Senior year in college, decide if you want to go for a Masters Degree or a PhD which would open up even more career opportunities. You'll have to choose your career because you know yourself better than anyone else. Think about now, not four years from now, You'll gain much insight on this throughout the next four years.
I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !
