Good morning!
I completely understand the moment of, "OMG, what am I going to do with a B.S. in Biology degree?!??"
Luckily, for me, all my science professors were medical technologists and introduced me to a program for Medical Technology.
We perform testing on patient specimens to help diagnose and treat patients; approximately 70 to 80% of what a medical technologist does helps improve patient outcomes. We get answers and save lives behind the scenes.
There are a lot of programs that accept the 4 yr degree to either get a certificate or to obtain a 2nd B.S. degree in this field. But, that is the route I took. I've been working in this field for 15 years, and I thoroughly enjoy it!
Unsure of your research background, but that could be an option as well. Pharmaceuticals and forensic science are also other options. There are some colleges that offer forensic science or some jobs that accept the Biology degree.

Syeta Cierra recommends the following next steps:

Medical Technologist
Pharmaceuticals
Research
Forensics

Marimi,

It looks like you're interested in medicine and healthcare. An undergraduate degree in biology would certainly be helpful and beneficial if you plan to apply to graduate programs to become a physician or PA to practice medicine. Most healthcare careers wouldn't necessarily require a graduate degree for practice, such as registered or licensed practice nursing or sonography.

Research is another area I can think of where an undergraduate biology degree would be relevant and useful, such as environmental conservation. If you're interested in pursuing biology, you could reach out to the school or program you're interested in applying to for information on potential careers or how past graduates of the program used what they learned in their careers.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

James’s Answer

Marimi, there are a universe of possibilities you can pursue after obtaining a bachelor's degree in biology. I chose to be a physician, and am happy I made that choice. You can also consider nursing, laboratory science, teaching, physician assistant, paramedics, pharmacy, radiology technology, veterinary school...
Try different things out. Try to spend time observing different careers. What brings you joy and contentment? What amount of stress are you willing to take on? How much do you enjoy interpersonal interactions?
Within medicine, you can choose from such diverse possibilities: pathology, family medicine, surgery, anesthesiology, pediatrics, hospital medicine, research, and even hospital administration.
Take one step at a time, and be open to taking sidesteps.
