Hi! First I want to say pediatrics is the best specialty in the medical field so good decision. And no, being a pediatrician myself have not influenced the previous statement (jk).
I would recommend volunteering in medical missions. They are always looking for volunteer experiences and plus will help you grow in the most important quality someone can have. Also shadowing some physician… you can even ask your PCP if you can shadow him/her at their office. You can also involve yourself in health promotion with some program and going to schools and provide talks about topics like the correct way to wash your hands and the importance of doing it. You could also teach about importance of exercise, healthy eating, etc.
Wish you luck in your journey!

Consider roles like Medical Scribe and Sterilization Tech. Becoming a Medical Scribe might require some training, but being a Sterilization Tech usually doesn't. Adding certifications, like CPR, can really boost your application. Plus, shadowing and volunteering show you're actively involved in the medical field.

Wow! Congratulations! It's great that you're already preparing for your med school application.
This is important because it shows you're aware of what you need to do and are committed to working on it. Being self-aware is the first step.
To answer your question, I'll share some general tips for preparing for grad school applications and interviews. First, find out the basic requirements for your degree track. Once you know them, see if you have friends, family, or acquaintances who have gone to a similar school or career. They can share their experiences, which can help you prepare and tailor their advice to your own career path. The goal is to create a plan that builds on your strengths and turns weaknesses into opportunities as you get ready to apply to med school.
Also, be careful about how you spend your time. Every activity is an investment in your future, so choose wisely. Think of it as building the best version of yourself.
Hope this helps!

Fortunately, the medical field is not looking for one kind of person. Healthcare is a team sport, and we like people who are well-rounded, engaged in doing good things, and who demonstrate leadership qualities. So, follow your passions. Try to be some kind of leader such as school council, team captain, or the like. Try to find lots of experiences so you learn what motivates you. I like jobs like lifeguard, EMT, volunteer with organizations that help people in need...
It is helpful to speak more than just English, and if you could join an international mission to help others, it would look good (and more importantly feel good).
I am a pediatrician, but I did not choose that until near the end of medical school, after I had done rotations in many different specialties. Do keep open to how your life experiences shape and guide you. I hope you have much joy along your expedition.
