Cory’s Answer

All great answers…peer groups, social support, etc…..

Remember this don’t get lost in the process to paper push skills and experience.

One you will likely lose yourself in the process or not likely gain the experience you say you have.

Don’t be afraid to be you…3.3 is a really good GPA. You sound like you are comparing it to a 4.0. Well yeah 3.3 is less than 4.0 but way more than 0.0, 2.0 and some above a 3.0. Good job.

When looking to differentiate yourself do it by picking a school that suits your learning style, pace of life, and other factors important to you.

When we try to change ourselves or the perception to meet other’s standards (yes this includes schools) we might overlook the important stuff.

Good luck.

LaTausha’s Answer

Check to see if the college you're going to has SHPE (society of Hispanic professional engineers). It's a national professional organization. You'll be engaged wirh other students, internships, campus and community activities etc. Other engineer organization may be available as well but the point is network, find mentors, tutors, etc.

Dana’s Answer

Our environment can shape us a lot. From personal experience, when there are people in our lives that aren't as supportive to our ambitions, words can build up over time and affect us, even if it isn't consciously. Being part of environments and groups that push you to have accountability and confidence in yourself help you grow. You strive to better yourself, you now reach for the stars because the people around you are lifting you up higher because they want to see you do it.
