Thank you for your question.
Below are my suggestions :
1. There are many tech related careers, e.g. Web Development, Apps development, System Engineering, Network administration, Cybersecurity, etc. You can find out more online.
2. Each of these careers have their own domain knowledge. You can find out more to determine what you have interest.
3. You can then explore what relevant courses are available to help developing in that aspect
4. If you would like to start your own business, suggest you work in that relevant careers some time to understand the business model and establish people network
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Kimberly’s Answer

Hello Supreme,

I am unfamiliar with the education system in Nepal, however, I came across this website that lists bachelors programs in business: https://edusanjal.com/degree/bba/

The website says: "Nepal offers many BBA programs, including traditional and specialized tracks. Numerous universities, such as Tribhuvan University, Pokhara University, and Kathmandu University, provide traditional BBA programs. These programs focus on core business disciplines like finance, marketing, and management, equipping students with essential skills for the business world. In addition to traditional BBA degrees, several specialized BBA programs are tailored to specific industries and emerging fields."

Business majors often concentrate in specific areas, such as finance, accounting, management, information systems, and marketing.

Some popular technology fields are:
• Computer science (DevOps engineer, AI/ML engineer)
• Information technology (IT support specialist, network engineer, cloud engineer)
• Data science (data analyst, data scientist, machine learning engineer)
• Software engineering (software developer, full-stack developer, backend engineer)
• Cybersecurity (cybersecurity analyst, security engineer)
• Web design and development (frontend developer, UX/UI developer)

Combining knowledge in business with knowledge in technology is a great idea. Either (or both) can be pursued as your bachelors, though you'll be pleasantly surprised to find that a lot can be learned online for free.

Here are some websites that offer many free courses. Sometimes they will charge you for a "certificate" but taking the course and learning the material itself is typically free. Be sure to research or ask this forum whether a certificate is valuable. Not all of them are globally recognized certificates. Check out these websites:
• Coursera: https://www.coursera.org
• edX: https://www.edx.org/
• Udacity: https://www.udacity.com/
• MIT OpenCourseWare: https://ocw.mit.edu/index.htm
• Google Developers Training: https://developers.google.com/training/
• Codecademy: https://www.codecademy.com/
• Harvard Online Learning: https://online-learning.harvard.edu/
• FreeCodeCamp: https://www.freecodecamp.org/
• Khan Academy: https://www.khanacademy.org/
• Alison: https://alison.com/
• Microsoft Learn: https://learn.microsoft.com/

Best of luck!

Kimberly recommends the following next steps:

Explore university programs in Nepal for business, computer science, engineering, and related fields. You can call their admissions office for admission requirements.
Explore free online resources and take some classes. Consider getting a certificate if it aligns with your ultimate career goals.

Hello Supreme,
That's a smart and practical mindset — you're already clear on your passion (trading and business), and you're looking for a tech-related course for your Bachelor’s degree that is time-efficient, useful, and can complement your business goals in the future.
Here’s a breakdown to help you choose the right path:
GOAL:
Get a tech-related Bachelor's degree that is less time-consuming, career-relevant, and helps you combine business + tech later (maybe to build apps, automate trading, analyze markets, etc.).
Recommended Bachelor's Courses (Tech + Business Combo)
1. Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT)
• Duration: 3–4 years
• Why it's good: Covers programming, databases, cybersecurity, and networking. Very flexible for side business projects.
• Use with Business: You can build websites, apps, or trading tools for yourself.
2. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA)
• Duration: 3 years (usually shorter than Engineering)
• Why it's good: Focused on software, apps, and programming. Easier than engineering, but still very powerful.
• Use with Business: Create your own trading platform, automate marketing, run e-commerce, or even create digital products.
3. Bachelor in Data Science or Analytics
• Duration: 3–4 years
• Why it's good: Teaches you how to analyze large datasets, make predictions — very useful for trading and market analysis.
• Use with Business: Combine with trading to make smarter, data-driven decisions (e.g., algorithmic trading).
4. Bachelor in FinTech (Financial Technology)
• Duration: 3–4 years
• Why it's good: Combines finance, coding, and business. Still a new field but rapidly growing.
• Use with Business: Perfect if you want to work on crypto, stock trading, or build finance-related apps.
5. Bachelor in E-Commerce or Digital Business
• Duration: 3 years
• Why it's good: Teaches you how to run online businesses, marketing, SEO, etc.
• Use with Business: Great for online business, dropshipping, affiliate marketing, etc.
Bonus: Shorter or Side Certifications to Boost Tech Skills
If you don’t want to wait 3–4 years to gain tech skills:
• Learn coding online (Python, JavaScript, etc. — good for tech business)
• Learn algorithmic trading (combine with Python)
• AI or Blockchain basics — for future business models
• Data Analysis with tools like Excel, SQL, Power BI
Websites: Coursera, edX, Udemy, freeCodeCamp
Best Path for You (Based on Your Interest)
If you are trading- and business-focused, but want to gain useful tech knowledge to help you in the future:
Go for BCA or BIT — they are practical, lighter than Engineering, and highly flexible for entrepreneurs.
Then on the side, learn:
• Python (for trading automation)
• Web dev (for your business)
• AI/ML basics (future-proof skill)
Thank you comment icon Thank you for the advice, David. Supreme
