It is great to hear that you were setting high standards for which college you would like to go to as well as considering financial obligations. it is important to reach high, but also find what it is you were looking for in a school. Make sure to do thorough research on a large range of schools in many different areas, and maybe even out of country. It is important to see what courses they have, and the teaching styles of each one make sure to reach out to admin staff and students prior to applying ask all the questions you can and see what their experience has been like. If possible, consider visiting a school to get a better idea of what it’s like. It is also important to consider the area that it will be in as you’ll be spending a lot of time around the campus itself.

As someone who has attended a prestigious school for my graduate studies, it is important to remember that just because you go to a good school, doesn’t mean you will get a amazing job or be set for your future. What matters most is what you do after you graduate and how you take your skills into the real world. Yes, reach high but know that if you end up going to a school that isn’t as prestigious, but has more of what you were looking for then you could use all the resources you can, and still prosper as an student and architect.
