Washington, D.C. offers strong opportunities for business students, especially in accountancy and data/financial analytics, due to its mix of government agencies, consulting firms, financial institutions, and think tanks. You can find internships with organizations like the Big Four accounting firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG), government bodies such as the SEC, Treasury, or GAO, and major consulting firms that focus heavily on data analysis and financial advisory. There are also opportunities with nonprofits and policy organizations that need financial and data support, which can be great for building experience. Overall, D.C. is a strong location because it combines public and private sector exposure, giving you access to internships that build both technical and analytical skills, as well as valuable professional connections.

Washington, DC has lots of places offering internships. You might want to check out opportunities with both federal and local government jobs, as well as with companies that work with the government. Also, Capital One is in the DC area and they hire interns too.
