What are the different places you did your residency and/or fellowship and how did it better prepare you for your Medical Examiner Certification ?

I'm currently a college freshman who wants to be a forensic pathologist. I understand that you don't always get residency in your direct field, so I would like to know some close options that would benefit me and better my knowledge for my career.

I am not a pathologist, and you should definitely wait for one to respond, but in general, there is a shortage of physicians, and most medical students get into a residency within the field they hope to pursue, and wherever that residency is, it is credentialed, and allows you to get into fellowships you may like or directly into jobs. It can be very hard getting into any medical school, then hard getting into your top residency choice(s), but you will still get to where you want to be if you are extremely unlucky.
