What platforms do artists use for freelance work? How do I integrate my interests in environmental science and fantastical creatures in an occupation? What are internships and any job opportunities in this area of interest? #Spring2026?

I am a will attend art school in the fall and I would like to plan ahead for possible internships and freelance work throughout the year to pay for college. #Spring2026

Usually for art freelance work, you can consider using VGen - allowing you to do freelance commission based artwork based on the different services you can offer. VGen platform mostly offers Art, Rigging and Streaming assets for Vtubers, Streamers, Content Creators.
An alternative platform to check out would be fiverr, where users can commission Artists to do a wider array of work - Website Development, Architecture & Interior Design, UGC Videos, Video Editing, Book Publishing.

Have fun! It's possible to juggle both Art as a passion/hobby and School or Work too :)
