What are the best schools for studying architecture in California for Australian international students?
What are the best schools in California for architecture? I am an Australian student in high-school and looking to pursue architecture in the general so-cal area. After looking at tuition for international students at USC my hopes have been dampened. Is there any good schools that are well credited that offer good scholarship or financial aid programs for International students? :)

If you’re looking for well‑respected architecture programs in Southern California that are more affordable than USC, there are several strong options for international students. In SoCal, the most reputable schools are Cal Poly Pomona, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Woodbury University. Cal Poly Pomona and Cal Poly SLO are both highly ranked for architecture, offer a hands‑on “learn‑by‑doing” approach, and have significantly lower tuition than private universities. Woodbury University (in Burbank) is smaller but well‑accredited and known for supporting international students with scholarships. Outside of SoCal, UC Berkeley and UC San Diego are excellent choices, though UC schools offer limited financial aid to international students. If scholarships are a priority, look closely at Cal Poly Pomona and Woodbury. Both have competitive merit‑based awards that international applicants can receive. Overall, you don’t need USC to get a top‑tier architecture education in California; the Cal Poly system is widely respected in the field and far more budget‑friendly.

California has some of the nation's premier university architecture programs, having both bachelors and masters programs.
Leading institutions include:

Each university provides distinct degrees and emphasis ranging from technical design to experimental studio practice.

I completely agree with the list provided except USC is simply too expensive. I know that Cal Poly and UC Berkeley have excellent programs in architecture.
