What are some advantages/disadvantages of being a neurologist?

Hai! I am keerthi. I am very interesting to becoming a brain doctor. But i have only heard about the positive aspects.I would like to know the positive as well as negative aspects of becoming a neurologist, like risks behind it #doctor #teaching #teacher #nursing #professor #neurology #career #science #career-counseling #medicine

Thank you comment icon Hi Keerthi! Great question. Some risks of becoming a neurologist are the high chances for lawsuits, fatal surgical risks, and financial pressures. In order to become a neurologist you have to be confident working under pressure and high stress environments. I hope this helps and I wish you the best! Mireia

Srinivas’s Answer

Neurologist is Extremely Critical role in the field of medicine. Complexity of the issues that you come across are not something which is a run of the mill. Extremely high level of patience is required both for dealing with the subject as well as the case progress at times will take years. Subject may not be even in a condition to respond with visual signs to indicate whats happening. Thus if you are the one who has high level of patience and take the highest level of risk (as we are talking about life of a person) and want to understand complexity of the situation and love to study the progress on highly critical cases, Then it would be the right Job.
