Hello Isis! So glad you are interested in PT!! You have asked a good question. The salary of a physical therapist depends on many factors including: the state in which you plan to work, the city in which you plan to work, and the area of physical therapy you plan to work in. Areas include: out patient orthopedics, home health, out patient neuro, inpatient neuro, in patient acute, acute rehab, pediatrics, wellness, skilled nursing facility, travel PT, and PT education/teaching. Learn about these different areas by doing some research on the web and contacting PTs in your area. Once you find the area of PT that interests you the most, you can then search by state and even city to find the most current salary information.

Best of luck to you! and know that this is a journey. you learn as you go :)

It very much depends on your state. I think 70k to 95k is a fair assessment! Southern states are generally known to pay less than states in the New England area.
Thank you comment icon It also depends on the type of PT environment you work in. In general, inpatient and home health PTs are paid more and outpatient PTs make a little less. I believe nursing home PTs are somewhere in between. The salary disparities are usually because employers need to pay more for PTs in order to draw them into working non-outpatient environments. I have used the Bureau of Labor and Statistics to get more localized data for PT salary information. I find it to be generally accurate. Salary can vary greatly depending upon health system, setting, and urban vs rural. Ben Fung with UpDoc media has also been collecting salary data for PTs and you might find his information useful!
