For you chemical engineers, what's the best way to get a head start on paying off your loans you know that you are going occur in college from tuition?

I know that you can get scholarships from the school, such as for ACT score, but is there any other way that I can pay at least 3/4 of this insane debt I know I'm going to rack up throughout college. I'm going to the University of Kansas in the fall of 2017 so I have a little time but PLEASE help!

Hi Zakery!

You asked a very important question!

Here are some tips on controlling college costs. Too many people spend too much money on an education and rack up a huge student loan debt that they will have great difficulty paying off. Here are some tips on how to avoid that. Getting an education is like making any purchase. You need to reduce costs in order to increase the value.

Hi Zakery K. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

I am not a chemical engineer but I did graduate with a Systems Engineering degree...and...yes...I did have a good amount of loan volume when I graduated. One of the things that can help in reducing the amount of loans by the time you graduate...is paying a little bit at a time while you are still in school. Not everyone has this as an option but where possible, you can begin to pay back loans even as a student. This can help to lower your loan burden by the time you graduate.

Hope this help and best of luck to you!
