James’s Answer

As a Corporal in the Marine Corps, what I make is public record. The pay of military members is sort of misleading. I get free housing, education, additional money for where I'm stationed, free healthcare and benefits, etc. on top of my base pay. I am able to travel and enjoy my life with my salary. If I were to stay in, I would continue to earn more, especially if I were to become an officer.
