Most management positions are full-time 40 hour work week positions and the salary can vary depending on how large the business is and at what level you are managing.

Letlotlo: clearly you skills and capability are right in line with having a successful career in business management. One of the many benefits of the business environment is you will get to determine your income level. Most businesses reward employees for their performance in a variable way. Meaning other industries may compensate for fixed work, meaning you make a fixed amount each year with the opportunity to receive an annual increase. All that said, you will likely work the amount necessary to achieve your financial goals. Best of luck!

Mickey recommends the following next steps:

Do you research on top earning executives, most are available to the public

Glassdoor is a great place to find salaries for various industries, particularly starting salaries. As for how much you will have to work, it may sound funny, but that is mostly up to you! In most business and management jobs, beyond the basic minimum of 35-40 hours per week, you get to decide how hard, and for how long, you'll work. The old sayings about showing up early and/or working late as keys to success may sound old fashioned, but they're still true. You can learn more, contribute more, network more, and achieve more simply by working more. A few extra hours per week can make a real difference.

Linda’s Answer

Great question! You are in a good field of study with business management. You will have a lot of career choices so I would try to do some internships so you can understand different roles within different companies. Use the time to network and see what other roles you might enjoy where you can leverage your degree. Pay is typically every other week or twice a month. The amount really depends on the industry, the specific job and where you live (what state). There are good tools like GlassDoor where you can model a specific job/field and it will tell you the range and median salary. Good luck and keep the questions coming.

Linda recommends the following next steps:

Checkout Glassdoor.com for salary ranges where you live and area of interest

Rebecca’s Answer

I am delighted to hear that you are actively participating the school activities and leadership team in the college. This is a valuable experience and establish network with your schoolmates. It is a great strength that you can get along with people easily. This is an asset to you.
However, I am not sure I understand your question correct. Are you looking for a part time job or permanent job you graduate?
For part time job, you can look for opportunities in the college or explore other external opportunities as well. As far as I know, the college may hire students to work on part time basis, e.g. libraries, administrative , etc. The wage is subject to the job nature.
Referring to the full time after your graduation, you have plenty of choices in business management. You can decide on what industries you would like to work on. You can explore more online what industries. At the same time, you can also find any intern opportunities. On one hand, you can make some income. On the other hand, it gives you an opportunity how the industry works. Similar to above, the wage depends on the job nature & industry you work on.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Rhulani’s Answer

You already possess leadership qualities, I also studied in a private college one of my modules was business management and I thoroughly enjoyed the content due to its vast and insightful material which remains relevant to todays day and age. I particularly liked the fact that business management focuses on small business development and the important functions found in small business, moreover it encourages South Africans to be successful entrepreneurs and as the old saying goes "small businesses are the backbone of a country's economy". Goodluck with your studies and future ventures.
