The answer will vary widely depending on the type of law you study, the type of firm you join, your law school grades & ranking, and location. However, in general one would expect a lawyer earning more on average than most folks.
https://www.salary.com/research/salary/benchmark/attorney-i-salary/tx has some salary info for TX and says avg. is $96,803 on a range of $69k - $126k. https://www.glassdoor.com/Salaries/texas-lawyer-salary-SRCH_IL.0,5_IS1347_KO6,12.htm has much higher #s which I'd expect to be more accurate.

Consider checking out publicly available resources like Glassdoor.com and search for different types of lawyers (litigators, prosecutors, in-house counsel, etc.) to get a feel for salaries. As Hassan said, there is a wide range of salaries depending on the path you choose within the law. I am not a lawyer but have many friends who are and would suggest to you that it's those who are really passionate about the law who thrive in these careers. Those who went to law school and didn't find that love for it tend to burn out or switch careers. Being a lawyer can be a lot less glamorous than it seems on television and all encompassing of your time so make sure this appeals to you. If it does, there are a lot of interesting career paths you can take!
