Madison’s Answer

This varies based on programs! You can find resident salaries on most residency program websites as it is public knowledge. In general it’s usually between 40-70,000$ but varies based on program and mostly this is off of cost of living in that area is where a lot of the variation comes from. Most programs you’ll make a small increased amount each year of residency.

Hello Chibuzor,

Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Salary in the USA Fall22

In the United States, the salary of an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) resident can vary based on several factors including location, level of experience, and the specific institution. However, according to data from the Medscape Residents Salary & Debt Report 2021, the average annual salary for first-year OB/GYN residents in the USA is approximately $61,200.

It’s important to note that this figure is an average and may differ based on the specific hospital or healthcare facility where the resident is employed. Additionally, factors such as additional benefits, bonuses, and geographical cost of living differences can also impact the actual compensation received by OB/GYN residents.

The salary for OB/GYN residents typically increases with each subsequent year of training. As residents progress through their training program, they may also have opportunities to earn additional income through moonlighting or other supplemental work.

Overall, while the average salary for first-year OB/GYN residents in the USA is around $61,200, it’s essential to consider that individual circumstances and regional variations can influence actual compensation levels.
