Being a Chef in the Bay Area?

I am planning to be a chef in the Bay Area. I am trying to do a diploma. Does anyone have any suggestions for any certifications that could help me? What is a specialization that I could do? Are there any particular tools that would help me in excelling my career?

Benjamin’s Answer

Just hard work and dedication. Remember even if you graduated from school you are not a real chef, and will not be in any restaurants eyes either. Keep up with trends, learn more about food, watch anything you can to give you your own ideas. Keep your eyes open in a kitchen you can learn little tricks from anyone, just because he’s a dishwasher and doesn’t speak English doesn’t mean he or she can’t teach you anything.
