I agree with previous answers and also recommend that you consider doing volunteer work for organizations that align with your interests in the field. This is a great way to gain experience, knowledge and make connections that may lead to opportunities. One area of significant growth is utility-scale renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.), which require environmental engineering support and have a tremendous impact on carbon emission reductions.
