How much demand is there for a lawyer?
I have been thinking about career options lately and one job that i have been interested in is a lawyer (specifically criminal defense but im not sure yet), but I have been told that there is not much demand for lawyers and that it could be difficult to find a well paying job in my area.
Cybersecurity is a burgeoning field that has yet to reach its full potential. The rise of technology brings with it new challenges and disputes that were unheard of just a few years ago.
However, if you're a specialist, you can still carve out a successful career path, regardless of technological advancements. As some opportunities fade, new ones will undoubtedly arise.
So, make it a point to familiarize yourself with legal technology tools. Stay informed about emerging technologies and tools that could reshape the legal landscape. This proactive approach can help you stay ahead of the curve and seize new opportunities as they come.
Ganesh recommends the following next steps:
Smaller towns and cities may not have a high demand for criminal defense lawyers. But don't let that discourage you. I'd advise you to reach out to public defenders and defense attorneys in your locality for a more detailed insight. A great way to meet a diverse group of criminal defense attorneys is by visiting your local criminal court. The judges and staff there would be more than happy to connect you with active defense attorneys in your area.
Also, I encourage you to check out this Wikipedia article titled "Post–law school employment in the United States." Even though the article might seem outdated, it references some excellent sources that provide up-to-date information on current salary and employment trends in the legal industry, such as the NALP Salary Data and the BLS attorney data.
