Nathan’s Answer

Like many others have said before me, you can babysit, be a pet sitter/walker, you can cut other people's lawns, you can help people who are in need of a mover, or be a handyman. You can join Taskrabbit.com or agent anything to see some of the tasks people have a need for. You can join swagbucks/mypoints and get paid to answer surveys/play games/etc. Find out what's available in your area and see if you can help in any way.

Jacob’s Answer

The first thing would be to ask family if you can do anything like babysitting or vacuuming for them for some money, that’s an easy way to get some cash while young. The other thing would be to look at those “do this survey and get some points or money in return.” It’s not a lot but it is something and can add up overtime. You could also sell some of your older things for some money (games, toys, and comics go for a decent amount at times).
Hope this all helps and good luck out there.
Thank you comment icon Good advice Jacob! These are things I did when I was younger and they resonate. Sunil Rajasekar

Keyston’s Answer

Making money as a teenager is about tapping into your skills and interests. You might explore freelance gigs online, like graphic design or content creation. Alternatively, offer your services locally, such as lawn care or pet sitting. Exploring tutoring or helping with tech support for older folks can also be rewarding. Don't forget the power of selling handmade crafts or vintage items online. It's all about finding opportunities that align with what you enjoy doing and can offer value to others.

Fred’s Answer

Earning money is about providing a good or service someone else wants. Then, the laws of supply and demand kick in. If LOTS of people can provide the service, that will drive the price down. If lots of people want the service, the price goes up.

So, try and think about an un-met need in your area. Do people need dog walkers? Errand runners? Lawn mowing? House cleaning? You (as the provider) have to decide how much you think that service is worth. Others (the consumers) will do the same. Then, you hope those numbers are the same. If not you start negotiating.

Edmund Joseph (Ed)’s Answer

I've always motivated my children to acquire certification as referees, umpires, or officials for children's sports. These roles offer excellent pay, ranging from $35 to $75 per game, paid in cash. There's a significant demand for these positions due a shortage of people wanting to officiate. On tournament weekends, one can earn up to $500 in cash for just two days of work.

These officiating jobs are abundant primarily because the parents of the young athletes can be quite intense. They may hurl insults and harsh words, even during sports activities involving seven-year-olds. Thus, it's crucial to have a tough exterior.

Obtaining certification to officiate a sport involves taking an online course, with each state having its own set of rules for certification, including a background check. The financial rewards are impressive, and there's a high demand for such roles. Looking back, if I had these opportunities in my youth, I would have seized them to earn money.

Hello there,

Drawing from my personal journey, my initial venture into the working world was babysitting the children in my neighborhood.

There's an array of job opportunities waiting for you as a teenager, all it takes is a bit of enthusiasm and the willingness to connect with others. For instance, during festive seasons like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, many stores are on the lookout for additional staff. You could also consider working part-time at a grocery store, a food business, or even landscaping.

Moreover, the digital world offers numerous possibilities. You could sell items online or even start your own YouTube channel! The options are endless for young individuals eager to start earning. It's all about choosing the path that resonates with you the most. Remember, every journey begins with a single step, so take yours with confidence!

I love that you have an entrepreneurial spirit! I’ve done things like iron clothes, mow lawns, clean garages and storage units, I use to do my neighbors laundry. Do you like kids? Babysitting can get you decent money too. If you’re good at it, you’ll have a list of clientele before you know it.
How about washing cars?
There’s also grocery shopping for others? Do you have any sewing skills? People could always use something stitched or a button sewn. You can also help someone with their garden. Who wants to pull weeds, when you can get someone to do it for you?
You could also clean pools and surrounding areas.
Something new could end up being a passion that helps led you to what can grow into a successful business.
Something to keep in mind is that you represent the services you offer so, always put your best foot forward while remaining friendly, positive and professional.

I highly recommend considering freelancing, as it offers the convenience of working from the comfort of your own home. All you need is to acquire the essential skills in a field that you're passionate about.

Additionally, you can explore other income-generating activities such as taking on small tasks like dog walking. You might also consider launching a YouTube channel focused on a topic you love. These options not only provide a source of income but also allow you to enjoy what you do.
