When in it comes to being in any psychology field I'd first of recommend being truly passionate about it, being empathic, and work on not trying to absorb they other persons energy, even though it can be difficult.

This is a great question. My suggestion would be to first decide what you want to do with the degree. Do you want to go into social work, do you want to go into addiction therapy and counseling, family counseling, children, domestic violence or grief counseling. Do you want to work in a school setting like as a guidance counselor or in a hospital as a grief counselor or something like this. It all depends on what you want to do with the degree as to how far you can go with it.
