what courses should I take for college to be a good real estate agent?

when I get my diploma I want to be a real estate agent but I want to go to college still so what courses should I take?

Public speaking would be a good elective to take in order to enhance your real estate resume and skill set. A lot of your job revolves around speaking to all different types of people from all different walks of life who are all in very different parts of their life. No two clients are the same. First time home buyers, new parents, divorcees, widows and so on all will need to be treated differently based on their set of circumstances, and having comfort in speaking to them and the ability to adapt to any situation is key.

Marketing classes will also be helpful. Ultimately your marketing a house or property, and although you may have actual administratively drawn up advertisements and listings, its on you to market and sell the buyer on the home.

Sales classes if offered can also be extremely helpful. Likely you will have leg up on the average salesman, as your client will actually have an interest in the products your selling, however some of the tips and tricks that you learn in those classes would surely translate to real estate.

Lastly, an accounting and finance background can be helpful. Knowing details behind the financial aspects of being a real estate, such as knowledge of mortgages, the cost of borrowing and interest rates, and the market as a whole can help set you apart.

Being a good real state agent is about being persuasive and charismatic. As a result, you should take some communication classes like speech. Moreover you will need to have a good background in finance and economics as real state boils down to those essential topics. As a bonus, try signing up for a door to door salesman job. It will really put your persuasion to test.

Hi, There Is No Specific Degree Required To Be An Estate Agent. However, Some Degrees are Popular Amongst Real Estate Agents. These Include: Marketing, Finance, Business & Accounting. Try & Gain Experience In Sales Because You Are Essentially Just Selling A Product (The Property) & You Need To Learn The Trade. Work Experience In This Field Will Go A Long Way, So I Would Recommend You To Work At A Real Estate Agents & Learn The Trade From Senior Workers.

College degree is always good to get no matter what you do. It says something about your commitment !!
if you are planning to go in real estate, business or marketing majors will be great!

I started my career in sales in real estate, no matter what you do, you need to be prepared to pay your dues and go thru growing pains. When i first started, I have done all the open houses for other brokers and tried to collect buyer info as I met people at those open houses. I have done cold calls, flyers, mailings to get listings.... Hard work and be prepared to work hard and do lots of legwork... you start being powerful as your efforts start paying back, you sell a house , you obtain loyal buyers and as you start getting listings. Key is to get listings, then other brokers or buyers call on your listings.

Bottom line, there is no free lunch , no easy way to success. Don't give up, focus on your goal and keep your chin up!
