If you have a Bachelors in Business Management and Administration, do you qualify for a bridge program into (an accelerated) BSN?
I am a veteran with a BS in Business Administration and Management trying to take advantage of any programs that'll get me into the health care industry. If there are any programs, apprenticeships, or certifications I should take, let me know. This will help with my journey!

If you have a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, you may be eligible for an accelerated BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) program, but eligibility depends on the specific program's requirements. Many accelerated BSN programs are designed for individuals with a non-nursing bachelor's degree, but you may need to complete certain prerequisite courses in subjects like anatomy, physiology, biology, and chemistry. It's important to check with the individual nursing school for their specific prerequisites and admission criteria.

Hi Alexandria,
I don't have specific information that answers your question, but thought I should provide you with a few thoughts that may help with your search. I work as a volunteer Mentor for Veterans through the Heros for Hire program and they have a lot of educational programs for Veterans and may be able to help you identify such a program. As a former Recruitment Manager in the Healthcare/Life Sciences industry, your educational background would be well-suited to administrative, operations and finance positions in the industry. If you worked in such an occupation for a university or college with a medical school or hospital, you can also attend classes and get a second degree at almost no charge. I would also encourage you to utilize AI tools in answering your question as I have found them very helpful for specific information needs such as yours. Hope that helps some.

I'm confident your degree would be a great fit for a bridge program leading to nursing. These programs often just need a Bachelor's in Science or any healthcare-related field. They'll take a look at your previous coursework, tick off the classes that align with the nursing degree requirements, and create a personalized plan for you. This plan will outline all the classes you need to complete before diving into the core nursing courses. Everyone's journey in these programs varies until they converge when it's time to start the nursing courses. I'm acquainted with someone who successfully completed a bridge program at Galan College of Nursing.
Additionally, I'd like to suggest the possibility of you venturing into clinical research. As a nurse, I collaborate with numerous individuals who hold the same degree as you do, and they're thriving in various roles. Plus, it's a pretty rewarding field. Try exploring job opportunities at academic institutions in your vicinity. Best of luck!

Absolutely. In fact, I would look for a bridge program into a masters in nursing. I did one of the first programs years ago. It crams a lot into the curriculum, but also cuts out the garage you get in the bachelor's level.

Hello Alexandria,
Firstly, I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for your service. Now, let's delve into the exciting world of continuing education in healthcare. Your Bachelor's degree in business can seamlessly dovetail with a Master's program in Healthcare Administration, particularly in Nursing. This field is incredibly diverse, opening up a wealth of opportunities for specialization later in your career.
Your current bachelor's degree could potentially fast-track you into an accelerated nursing program leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). From there, you could bridge to a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) or a PhD in nursing. This advanced level of education would empower you to leverage your business acumen in your own practice or even ascend to an executive role in a healthcare delivery system enterprise.
Nursing programs offer flexible learning options, with courses available exclusively online or on campus, depending on the program. The accelerated programs are designed to be swift, taking you to a BSN in just one year. The bridge from BSN to DNP/PhD typically spans 18 months when pursued full-time.
So, envision this: in less than three years, you could be holding a terminal Science degree, all thanks to the solid foundation provided by your current bachelor's in business. The future is bright, Alexandria, and it's all within your reach!
