What's the typical workload for a Computer engineering student or worker?

I want to get an idea of the workload and intensity of pursuing Computer Engineering and wonder if there's any opportunities to experience this.

Hello!
This answer depends on how many (if any) credits you bring in to college.
For me, I didn't bring in any credits to college.
Each semester got more and more difficult and busy with homework. However, while I got more homework as I went through college, I also took more classes that I really enjoyed. So I was more willing to spend more time on these classes (you should always try your best in all your classes, these classes I was just excited to work on).

I would also say, the longer I was at college, the more late night homework sessions I experienced if that helps at all.
I'm not sure what you can do to experience this before college. I would suggest having some projects before you enter college (not required but working on projects while doing homework would give you an idea).

I know something that helped me a lot, was taking some summer classes. I didn't have an internship between my freshmen and sophomore year so I had a part time job while I did summer classes.

I hope this helps! Engineering school is challenging and you'll be busy, but it's incredibly rewarding.
