Piano Professor + Opera Singer?

Is it possible for me to be a piano professor with all the duties that come with that career (teaching, planning, office hours, performing, doing other side-gig type things, etc.) and also have a serious, yet part-time opera career? I know having a role in an opera requires you to be available for 3-6 weeks of rehearsals during the day, so how could I make that work while also teaching at a college? Is it even possible?

As a music major, where should I go to college?

I plan to major in music. For my bachelor's degree, is it smarter to go to an in-state school to try to save some money, or is it worth it to try to get into the best conservatory I can? For context, if I go to an in-state school I would be considering the University of Kansas, Kansas State University, and Wichita State University.

Orchestral Pianist?

What are the ins and outs of being an orchestral pianist. I know most are part time or are touring/a soloist for a season or something, but I am very interested in learning more. Be as exhaustive as you can.

What "unknown" jobs are there in the classical music industry?

I'm a classical pianist, and I want to be a concert pianist. However, I know competition is tough, so I wanted to know what other options I have in the classical music industry besides the usual suspects (teaching and accompanying). #music #musician #music-industry #classical-music

What types of job opportunities are available for a concert pianist?

I am currently a rising high school senior, and I am looking into possibly minoring in piano, or maybe even majoring. I deeply love playing the piano - it is my passion to play it for the rest of my life. I am very worried, however, that I will not be able to find a job if I were to pursue my dreams in becoming a concert pianist. I therefore have a plan to pursue a career in accounting, but I am still wondering if it would be at all possible for me to still play the piano as a career (even part-time), and would it be possible for me to have a said career without even getting a degree in piano. #music #music-composing #composer #piano #classical-music

What do orchestral conductors look for in a musician?

I play the flute, and know that it is a competitive world out there for us flautists. How can I stand above the rest, besides my playing skills? Should I learn to play the piccolo just as well as the flute for better chances? #orchestral-music #classical-music #orchestra #flute
