Cynthia’s Career Stories

What is it like when your job gets tough?

When my job got tough it was like being a Ninja Turtling fighting many different Villains off at the same time as you work against the countdown before blast off!!! Haha You defiantly have to be multi task oriented and Time aware! You constantly are up against the clock being customer friendly and not showing stress

How did you pick your career? Did you know all along?

I knew from the 7th grade What I wanted! I tried many paths and tried many other jobs before heading down the path I wanted so badly! I never looked bad and loved what I choose for my career.

What is the one piece of career advice you wish someone gave you when you were younger?

When you start in any Career you will start at the bottom learning and it takes time before you earn what you believe is enough to survive comfortably. Do not quit because the process is not moving quick enough, look at the benefits your company offers, ask others who have been then longer what it was like when they started and how they got to where they are now! Everyone starts somewhere and to succeed you must not give up to soon!

Did anyone ever oppose your career plans when you were young or push you in a direction you did not want to go?

YES!! I was young and married. My husband was totally against my choice to work and against my choice of career .

When you were a student, did you do anything outside of school to build skills or get knowledge that has helped your career?

Luckily I had great customer service skills I acquired from jobs I had prior to applying for my dream job. Customer Service Skills seems to be a lost trait that is so important to have in able to succeed and rise above the norm!!

When did you get your first Big Break? How did you get it? How did it go?

My first big break came when I found out that Continental Airlines was having Interviews and I was asked to attend. It was a group interview and I was asked to stay for further The interview process... I just knew at that point I was on my way! It was one of the most exciting moments of my life!
