Bill DePatie is the Senior Vice President of Engineering Strategy and Operations (ESO) at Dell EMC, a division of Dell Technologies. Dell Technologies has annual revenues of $94+ billion and approximately 165K employees worldwide. Dell EMC provides the essential infrastructure for organizations to build their digital future, transform IT and protect their most important asset, information. This includes products and solution offerings in Server, Storage, Data Protection and Networking.

In this role, Bill is responsible for the Engineering Strategy and Operations for ISG’s Engineering and Development Organization comprised of ~11K engineers with a budget of greater then $1B. His organization is responsible for Engineering Operations and Business Management Systems, Global Program Management, Engineering Transformation Initiatives, and Common/Shared IP Leverage & Reuse.

In his previous role at Dell EMC, Bill lead Platform and System Engineering (PSE), an organization comprised of Storage Platform Engineering, Network Engineering, Drive & Storage Media Engineering, Memory Systems Engineering, Device Engineering, and Platform & System Strategy. Bill and his team also closely partnered with Dell’s Supply Chain & Manufacturing Operations. PSE had development labs worldwide located in North America, Europe, India, and Asia.

Bill is a 35 year industry veteran and has held numerous senior management positions in engineering at EMC and Data General prior to Dell’s acquisition of EMC in 2016. He is a respected technologist and leader in the industry and has vast experience in all facets of hardware engineering and in leading global engineering organizations. He holds patents in both Server & Storage related technologies.

Bill graduated from Northeastern University in 1986 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and has attended numerous Executive Management Programs at MIT Sloan & Babson College.
