In layperson terms, what do you actually do at work?
I work as a Project Manager, who oversees the deliverables of few applications or systems. The deliverables include conducting meeting for Business requirement gathering, Business Requirement Document documenting, review and signoff, code change review, Test Cases, Test Results review, end to end co-ordination on User Testing on changes and the implementing the change into final environment where users could use the application for the purpose it is designed for.
What is the most useful piece of career advice you got as a student, and who gave it to you?
Be more organized, dedicated and have listening ears and I received this career advice from my cousin who is 10 years senior to me in the IT industry.
How did you start building your network?
Initially you need to start the network thru Friends and people who we know from the Industry. By reaching out to people, it will lead us to certain direction and we need to definitely put an effort and research further to pick it from there. Then we can use Linkedin, Dice and other professional network that will help us connect to the right resource. The effort of building the network should be consistent and Genuine
