About
It's my mission as a Lebanese scientist to restore people's trust in science, enabling society to function and evolve healthily!
With a cumulative experience of 6 years in teaching, research in biology and philosophy of life sciences, as well as science journalism, I have the necessary skills to simplify the most complex scientific concepts and make them understandable to a broad audience. Far from being just a field reserved for researchers in lab coats, science is an exciting realm of exploration that touches our daily lives. My role is to lift the veil on this fascinating world and awaken awareness of its wonders. In particular, my passion for botany drives me to share my love for the plant kingdom. Through captivating articles, dynamic videos, regular social media interactions, and exclusive meetings, I share my knowledge and enthusiasm.
However, science cannot thrive without diversity. As a strong advocate for inclusion, I am committed to promoting the participation of women researchers in scientific fields. Indeed, the richness of perspectives and approaches is essential to advance research and foster innovation.
Creating content that is both engaging and informative is at the heart of my approach. My goal is to spark interest in a wide audience and encourage active participation in science. The more people take an interest in scientific discoveries, the more we foster the emergence of innovative solutions to the challenges our society faces.
My unique journey has allowed me to develop a singular vision of the scientific world. My research in the philosophy of life sciences has given me a holistic and multidisciplinary approach. I don't just explain scientific concepts; I place them in their historical, social, and philosophical context. This global vision helps better understand the stakes of research and its impact on our society.
For a more participative science!
Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of collaborating with prestigious institutions committed to knowledge dissemination. L'Orient Le Jour, Ici Beyrouth, Saint Joseph University of Beirut, the Lebanese National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS-L), the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), the DEMOS Review, the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), and the Royal Botanic Gardens of Kew are among my valued partners. These collaborations have allowed me to share my knowledge with a diverse audience and contribute to a better understanding of scientific issues in Lebanon and internationally.
Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the mysteries of the universe. Science transported me to magical worlds and pushed me to explore the secrets of our surroundings. This passion has never left me, and it led me to found 961 Scientia. This digital platform brings together articles, videos, and podcasts. 961 Scientia aims to be an open and welcoming space where everyone can find answers to their scientific questions and feed their intellectual curiosity. This media platform connects scientific research, the professional world, and society.
Outside of my scientific endeavors, I have a profound passion for literature. Words have the power to transport us to imaginary worlds and make us reflect on the world around us. In particular, I am a devoted admirer of the work of Farjallah Haik, a Lebanese Francophone author whose rich and profound prose deserves to be rediscovered by the Lebanese public.
