Jonathan I. Ezor is an Associate General Counsel at Verizon. He has been practicing Internet business law in both law firms and companies for 30 years. He is a certified Privacy Law Specialist, a Certified Information Privacy Professional – U.S. (CIPP/US), Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), and Certified Artificial Intelligence Governance Professional (AIGP). Before joining Verizon in 2014, he spent 11 years as a faculty member and founding Director of the Touro Law Center for Innovation in Business, Law and Technology. While at Touro, he served as Counsel to Olshan Frome Wolosky, on the Board of Directors of CALI (the Center for Computer-Aided Legal instruction), on the Social Media Taskforce for the New York State Bar Association’s Commercial and Federal Litigation Section, and on the IT Advisory Board for the Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.
Author of Privacy and Data Protection in Business: Laws and Practices (LexisNexis 2012), the free e-book Shooting From the Hip: Managing the Risks of Portable Computing and Smartphones in Your Business and the Internet law handbook Clicking Through: A Survival Guide for Bringing Your Company Online (Bloomberg Press, 2000), and coauthor of Producing Web Hits (IDG Books, 1997), Ezor has been a guest columnist on legal issues for BusinessWeek Online and a regular contributor to technology and business blogs. He has also written for Business 2.0, Advertising Age (which named him a “Web Warrior” in 1995), Law Technology News, the New York Law Journal, and many other publications. Ezor is a graduate of Brandeis University (Magna Cum Laude; Phi Beta Kappa) and Yale Law School.
