Hi Jackie! It's great you are considering this aspect before committing to a college. If you already have a list of colleges you are interested in, I would check their website to see their career placement for new grads. This is typically on the "Class profile" of their website. Here is an example: https://www.mccombs.utexas.edu/recruiters-and-corporations/recruiters/recruiting-statistics/salary-statistics/
In the above link, UT Austin's McComb's School of Business lays out the percentages of students who accepted full time offers by major, as well as the average salary. Seeing this breakdown could also help you pick out which specific major you want to take within a business school. Some colleges will also list out the internships that students have accepted in their class profile.
Additionally, I would also explore the alumni network from each college. If there is a college you are really interested in, I recommend reaching out to some of the alumni (perhaps on LinkedIn) to understand what their experience was like.
Good luck on your search!

Thank you for your question. I am glad to know that you have interest in Business.
Below are my suggestions :
1. There are many business related careers, e.g. accounting, finance, marketing, administration, human resources, banking, etc. you can find out more online
2. Find out more on these careers and identify what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, college career counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Choose the relevant subjects in your course and explore any intern opportunities in relevant sector
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

To get a good job in business, a top college can help a lot. Schools like the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), MIT Sloan, and UC Berkeley (Haas) are great choices. They offer more than just classes; they have strong connections with big companies and help students find good jobs through career fairs and special events.
For a business major, some jobs pay well and are always in demand. Financial services (like banking) and management consulting are very good but can be a lot of work. The technology world also has many opportunities in areas like product management and data analysis.
To land a good job after college, a degree isn't always enough. The most important thing you can do is get at least one, or even two, internships while you're in school. Internships give you real experience and help you meet people in the industry.
You should also work on your resume, practice for interviews, and use your school's career center. Learning an extra skill, like how to use a certain software or language, can also help you stand out.

Hi Jackie,
I have two kids in college right now—one at the University of Tennessee and the other at the University of Georgia. Both of those schools offer excellent business programs and plenty of resources to help students find jobs after they graduate. You might want to think about going to a college in your state to save on costs.
If you're looking at options, the University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), Georgetown University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are known for strong career results. These schools have high job placement rates and great industry connections, giving students lots of opportunities.
When picking a business school, here are some things to think about:
Location: Choose a school in a place that fits your career goals and lifestyle.
Job placement rates: Look for schools where graduates quickly find jobs.
Career services: Check what resources are available, like internships and networking events.
Industry connections: Find schools with strong links to the industries you’re interested in.
Hope this helps!

I agree with many of the previous comments. Most business schools share their students' job stats, including the industries or companies where they work. The alumni network is crucial; alumni at your target company can help you get in. If you have a dream company in mind, find out which schools they recruit from. Attending one of these schools can give you an advantage, but remember, with motivation and networking, you can still succeed even if you aren't from those schools.

There are public rankings of business colleges but ultimately you should also consider
- what the alumni network is for your college in your specific industry
- the cost of the college compared to the field you want to enter (and whether they are known to give scholarships)
- what additional resources you will be given to succeed at your college
- what support network you will have in that college (the best college overall may not be the best college for you)
Fortunately, "business" is pretty broad, so you have a ton of options to choose from.
Whichever college you choose - make sure to utilize the career center, attend networking events on campus, and check out the job fairs. You can typically attend job fairs at any year and it's a good way to get a sense of the industry/who generally hires even as a Freshman/Sophomore. In addition - you can see what skills/experiences jobs are looking for and if you do this earlier on - you will have time to build them.
Check out the college rankings here: https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/business
Narrow down the list based on geography / personal interest and check out their career resources page to see what they offer

Texas A&M University is the best school in the universe. Their business school is top notch. The biggest benefit is the Aggie Network. It will open so many doors to you and point you towards what facet of business you might be interested in. Also going to a football game at Kyle Field alone is worth looking into it. While there seems to be an infinite number of options A&M will help find which is best for you.

Hi Jackie,
If you've already picked out some colleges you're interested in, take a look at their websites to see what placement opportunities they offer. You could also visit these colleges during an open house or schedule a meeting with the Head of Department or a faculty member to get more information. This will help you decide which colleges you like best.
It's also a great idea to chat with friends' siblings or relatives who went to these colleges. They can give you valuable insights!

Some top universities like Harvard and UC Berkeley offer great opportunities. However, getting a good job after college mostly depends on the internships and activities you do while you're there. It's important to focus on finding good internships and gaining leadership experience. This way, job opportunities will come your way, no matter which college you attend.
