One definitely have to have certain Level of Intelligence and Logical thinking.

Logical thinking cannot be taught, in my experience. But one can compensate the intelligence upto a certain level, with "Hard Work".

Being diligent and sincere is definitely much needed..

And definitely, you should know, how to have fun :)

May be have some creative hobby like Music (Singing, Instrument), Painting, Public Speaking, Drama/Theater or any sports. I believe, these are very much required to learn better.

Amit recommends the following next steps:

Identify your Strengths and what you can develop more, SWOT is an good exercise to do.

Nicole’s Answer

Hi Jordan R. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.

For sure, some personal attributes that are essential include a love of continuous learning, determination and a willingness to keep an open mind ("thinking outside the box") when trying to solve problems. Seek problems to solve and be proactive about finding ways to do things better. This is a highly respected approach that can move individuals into being thought leaders.

As for having a creative side, that is awesome!! Many engineers and/or people who work in technology use creativity to be successful in their work. Web design, graphic art, game development, data visualization...these are just a handful of spaces that I believe allows a strong combination of engineering skills and creative elements.

Hope you find this information helpful. Best of luck to you!
