How do you become known to the modeling industry if you don't have that big of a platform, things like Instagram .

My name is Yazlynn. I am a 15 year old school girl that enjoys both sports and modeling. When I was younger, a family friend of mine had her own modeling business I joined. We went to small shows almost every weekend and kept up with a specific diet. I loved it because I see myself as a very photogenic person and I love having a sense of style. #business #lesson-planning #fashion #arts

Attend social events frequently especially those where you get attention, this will place you in the spot light and boost your confidence immeasurably. Being recognised is a big step in the modeling industry you can even invent yourself (as in brands, styles, actively favour some Fashion designs etc) since you seem active on social media platforms alternately other complimentary activities like acting and singing are a raw source of attention and a sure capture of peoples attention. Seek professional practice lessons or advisors in Fashion modeling (personal details) like the different run ways and run way walks, make up, costume, striking balance and many more.

I know you mentioned not having that big of a platform on social media, but some companies/ brands look at content over quality of followers. For instance, if you have qualities that match their brand, I'm sure you'd make a great addition.
Social media is a great platform to utilize, even if you don't hear a response from some companies or agency's, you're not losing anything. I'd recommend to reach out to others on social media, whether it's via Instagram or Twitter. Especially since you can reach a wide range of people because you can message an influencer, agency, or even a certain brand that you'd wish to be an ambassador for and ask for opportunities like a collaboration or advice.

As a professional signed model (I have modeled both under agency contract and freelance), I recommend networking within your local city/community. Start by researching your market on google, see what agencies are out there.

Please note, if agencies are asking you to pay for their services, they are not legit! The only thing you should be paying for is potential paid test shoots to build your portfolio.

Once you have found a prospective agency you are interested in, I would recommend contacting them around open calls, or sending in your digital headshots. If they are interested they will definitely respond back!

Tailor your Instagram to “brand” yourself. Think about questions such as: what do I stand for, believe in? What do I enjoy? Begin to tailor your Instagram around these thoughts!

Let me know if you have any questions!
