I wish to create a platform that talks about issues pertaining to ex prisoner after their sentence, relapse into criminal behavior and other related issue but then I have no idea on how to go about it especially with my little to no know knowledge about editing photos and videos. How do I start? #EOY22

Thank you comment icon This is a really cool idea! Can you share why you need to know about editing? How would that help you with creating the platform? Gurpreet Lally, Admin

Mercy,

It sounds like you have the passion for this topic! That is a great first step.

Depending on what platform you want to use, there are tons of great tools out there to help you. There are some free photo and video editors available, and you can probably find books about how to use them at your library. Besides that, there are literally thousands of tutorials on YouTube. For example, if you use free Adobe Express online, you can search on YouTube for "how to add music on Adobe Express" and someone will show you how.

Other than that, just start! You will learn as you go, and your audience will grow along with your efforts. Good luck!

Thank you for your question!

My first thoughts are to understand and be very clear about your concept and goal.

What end result or goal do you want to achieve? Information for all, information for ex- prisoners, forum for discussion or encouragement, etc.

Who is your target audience? Ex-prisoners, society at large, at-risk teens, families of ex-prisoners, law-makers, etc.

The answers to these questions will help guide what type of platform capability you need.

From what you have said, a blog-type page where you could share information, allow for comments, and capture audience contact information and sentiment may work.

There are many free website building tools for regular people who are not website designers (like WordPress, Wix, or Hubspot). You could choose one, start your blog and see where it goes.

Good luck!
