What kind of internships/jobs are out there in photography/cinematography that are available for minors?

I'm a fifteen year old filmmaker/visual artist and am looking for ways to make future connections to become a Director/Story Artist/Cinematographer. I also want to start saving up for film school, and other necessities to pursue this career, so any job would be helpful.
I'm also mixed raced, and a young lady, and want to help get more woman threw that door, because there simply aren't enough of us in this profession.
any advice or support would be much appropriated.

Thank you comment icon Have you checked into your local news station? It may be a bit boring as far as action on set but if anything it will give you experience with cameras, lighting, and a variety of jobs that are commonly found on a TV or film set. Sidney

Hi Annabella! I worked in the arts for about 10 years, and I will say it can be a hard path to follow. The salaries are not great, but if you are passionate about it definitely pursue it. I'd recommend looking at local colleges and universities, many of them have arts departments and you might be able to get an internship there. If not, they can connect you to their own alumni in the area who you could work with. Another option is to look at museums, art galleries, etc. near you to do the same. When you reach out, make sure you do the following:

1) make sure you have examples of your work to share, ideally as a portfolio,

2) thank people for their time, ask for recommendations for next steps,

3) ask for a quick phone call,

4) make sure your email is professional, grammatically correct, and free of typos.

Good luck!
