Nancie’s Answer

I loved talking to the patients and hearing about their amazing lives. The camaraderie of working with other medical professionals can not be beat. I miss it and haven't worked for a very long time. The doctors can be a little bit overwhelming sometimes, but then again they couldn't do the job without the nurses.. sometimes they need to be reminded it is not a one man job.
As for stress.. you need to find a healthy outside activity.. I sewed and knit.. some run or exercise.. some drink. The first two options are better.
Nursing has changed now, it's a lot harder, patients are a lot sicker. I worked in an open heart ICU which was always stressful, but you will never learn about medicine like we did there unless you jump in and trust yourself to know what to do.

Luisa’s Answer

Hi Yaasmin, :)

The most satisfying part of nursing is the opportunity to make a positive impact on patients' lives every day. As a nurse midwife for six years, I've had the privilege of supporting women through one of the most transformative experiences. Knowing that my care has made a difference is incredibly rewarding and fuels my passion for nursing.

Hope this helps.

Erin Lee’s Answer

Hi Yaasmin,
Nursing has many options. I worked in the hospital for many years and thought I would always do that kind of work until I found a calling in another area of nursing. The most satisfying part of being a nurse for me is partnering with people on their healing journeys and seeing them succeed. We get to be with people at some of their most vulnerable moments; protecting human dignity and walking alongside someone in these moments is invaluable.
